It was still online, with a wretched little text
announcing the suspension.

Apparently you could still hunt
for your favourite items in the shop even if
"the poll is now expired"
and the photos of street girls
look sad and dated.
Apparently they were hip some years ago.
Who knows?
It looks like a distant, indistinct, past.

It struck me that a digital asset,
even if still online,
could manage to present an air of ruin,
nonetheless.

The "future plans" were finally never announced.
A tombstone for which someone still foots a bill.
